SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Cabinet on Thursday laid a new set of guidelines for schools that seek grant-in-aid from the government. The Cabinet endorsed the section that there should be an 11-point criteria for any school management which solicits recognition and grant-in-aid from the government.
The foremost being the space of the school premises, which should not be less 2 acres; the second being the deposit of three months contingency funds for the teachers.
State Minister of Education Lakmen Rymbui while listing the basic criteria for recognition and eligibility for the grant-in-aid stated that there will be no compromises in the future while stating that the new guidelines will not apply on the 900-odd schools which are already availing financial aid from the government.
