Shillong: The Nongur Primary Health Centre, Nongur Sohiong Lyngdohship was inaugurated today by A L Hek, Minister of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Hek said the government is committed to provide affordable, accessible and quality health care services to all sections of the people especially in rural areas.
He also informed that this Primary Health Centre will extend basic healthcare services, maternity care, besides carrying out vaccination and immunization programme and epidemic control activities to 24 surrounding villages.
Reiterating the government commitment for providing health care facilities to the citizens of the State, the Health and Family Welfare Minister said that the Government signed the contract with Reliance General Insurance Co Ltd for the implementation of the fourth phase of Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) in convergence with Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a Central Government Health Scheme. Registration for the fourth phase of the MHIS will start in 2019, he added.
