One dies in accident at Wahblei bridge in West Khasi Hills

SHILLONG: Barely two days after completing his basic training as SF-10 commando from 2nd MLP battalion, Commando Emanuel Thongni met a fatal accident at Wahblei bridge in West Khasi Hills on Thursday. According to the police, the commando of the State police, a resident of Nongkynna, was on his way back home from Mawphanlur riding his scooty. At Wahblei bridge his scooty skidded off the road following which he lost control of his the vehicle and sustained severe injuries.

He was admitted to Riangdo CHC in an ambulance, but succumbed to his injuries. He had gone home for a short break but fate decided it otherwise. It was a heart broken moment for the family of the 23-year-old and his fellow commandos who came to know about the tragic incident.
