SHILLONG: Another person has recovered from COVID-19 in Meghalaya, Health Minister AL Hek informed.

With the latest recovery, the number of active cases in the State has come down to 13. So far the State has 29 patients who has recovered while one died of the virus. The state has recorded 43 COVID-19 cases so far.

The health minister informed that till Wednesday afternoon a total of 14490 samples were sent for testing out of which 14086 results were negative and the results of 360 samples are awaited.

Hek also informed that a total of 16100 stranded residents of Meghalaya returned back till Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that the review meeting of the state government held on Wednesday has decided to reopen restaurants, beauty parlour, barber shops and salons from June 22.

"But restaurants all along the national highways will be closed," the Deputy Chief Minister said.
