Shillong: The Meghalaya government has a contingency plan for the reopening of educational institutions, should the Central Government take a decision to slowly open up. Worried about the existing scenario where the students are taking a hit, Meghalaya Minister of Education Lakmen Rymbui told The Sentinel on Friday that the department is well aware of the anxiety of the people. "Talks doing the rounds is that schools are likely to start by June 1 besides completing the pending board exams. We have a contingency plan and a road map but will have to wait for the Union Government to take a decision", he said.

"Even if June 1 is the date, it will take us to June 15 to really make it happen, considering the type of circumstances that we are in", stated Rymbui even as he added that the contingency plan will be announced on Monday.
