Shillong: Region in Mawbah Barapathar untagged as 'Containment Area'

Guwahati: On Tuesday, a zone in the Mawbah Barapathar locality of Shillong in the East Khasi Hills district has been untagged as a Containment Area.

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District issued an order on 17th August 2020 for lifting the containment order for Jairam Roy compound, Mawbah Barapathar, after no new COVID-19 cases were detected in the locality.

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in an order issued on 12th August, 2020 had declared the Jairam Roy compound, Mawbah Barapathar, as a containment area.

In Meghalaya, 44 new COVID 19 cases were detected yesterday taking the total number of active cases to 733 while four COVID-19 patients also recovered.
