SHILLONG: Meghalaya, on Wednesday, recorded six more COVID-19 fatalities, 354 new cases and 424 recovered from the virus. Of the six new fatalities, East Khasi Hill district recorded four and North Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills districts recorded one each.

As on date, the State has 886 total deaths; and 4,229 active cases; while 47,597 persons have so far recovered from the infection. Of the 354 new cases, 161 were recorded in East Khasi Hills district; 73 in West Garo Hills; 27 in West Khasi Hills; 21 in West Jaintia Hills; 15 in East Jaintia Hills; 12 each in East Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts; nine each in North Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills; eight in South Garo Hills; and seven in South West Garo Hills.

As many as 31,031 Healthcare workers have been vaccinated with the first dose; 20,091 received the second dose; 96, 765 frontline-workers got the first jab and 27, 469 got the second shot, while 5, 46,120 persons from among the general public were inoculated with the first dose and 41,148 are fully vaccinated.
