SHILLONG: Once again St Anthony's Higher Secondary School, Shillong, has bagged the first position in the top 10 list of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) exams 2021. This was revealed after the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) announced the results of the HSSLC examinations for the Arts stream on Thursday.

Daniel Ksanbor Khyriemmujat of this school secured a total of 462 marks to take the lead.

L Kennedy Vaiphei of St. Edmund's Higher Secondary School and Jethro Jarvis Roy Jyrwa of St. Anthony's Higher Secondary School secured the second and third positions respectively.

Of the top 10 positions, students of St. Anthony occupied the first, third, seventh, ninth and the tenth positions while the students of St. Edmund's bagged the second, fourth, fifth and sixth places. The list also feature Lady Keane College, Shillong, whose student bagged the eighth position while a student from St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured the 10th place.

SCHOOLS FROM OUTSIDE SHILLONG EXCELL: Interestingly enough, students from MBoSE schools from other districts outshone those in the capital city of Shillong. This year's result witnessed schools from West Khasi Hills, Mairang St. Thomas HS School and Mawlyngdoh HS School of Mowkaiaw (West Jaintia Hills) beat prominent schools in Shillong to bag the first and second position in the top 20 list.

Kevinstrong Lawriniang, a student from St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Mairang emerged as the topper securing 576 marks out of 600.

Wanteibok Pator from Sawlyngdoh Higher Secondary School, Mowkaiaw, bagged the second position securing 575 marks followed by Kashish Samee of St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Shillong and Mridumay Saha of Sherwood School, Tura, who jointly secured the third place with 574 marks.
