SHILLONG: The BSF Shillong handed over two Bangladeshi nationals to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

The duo had come to international border for sightseeing and inadvertently entered into Indian territory in South Garo Hills district on November 20. They were apprehended by the BSF.

The two persons have been identified as Md Akhter Ujjaman (43), son of Mohar Ali, village Mukhtir Kasandi under Matlab PS under Chandpur district, Bangladesh, and Md Amirul Islam, (18), son of MD Kalam under village Raipur, Dhobaura in Netrakona district.

Public Relations Officer of BSF said, the BSF always adopts a humanitarian approach in cases of inadvertent crossing by people, including minors. Both the border guarding forces have developed an understanding on such subjects and these issues are amicably resolved to strengthen the existing relationship and to enhance mutual trust between both the neighboring countries.
