SHILLONG: NPP MDC and secretary of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) at Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Pynïaid Sing Syiem has said that all the MDCs from different political parties under the UDA alliance still have faith in the leadership of Teiñwell Dkhar as chairman of the alliance.

This statement from the MDC, who was the former Deputy Chief Executive Member (Dy CEM) of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), comes after allegations surfaced that there is unrest and misunderstanding within the UDA alliance as there is a demand to change the leadership of UDA.

“We still have faith in the leadership of Teiñwell Dkhar as the chairman of UDA and there has not been any intention to change the leader of the alliance,” Pynïaid Sing Syiem told The Sentinel.

He said there was no intention from the first place to change the leader of UDA and all the MDCs within the alliance still support Teiñwell Dkhar as the chairman of UDA and the leaders of NPP have also instructed the MDCs to continue and support the chairman.

“As it was decided by both the UDA alliance and the NPP not change the leader we will continue to give our support to Teiñwell,” he said, He said that even various meetings of the NPP there was never a discussion to remove the chairman and select a new one. He added, “At present we have 16 MDCs in the UDA alliance and all of us are united as one.”
