Weapon display-cum-awareness programme held in Shillong

SHILLONG: It was a treat of all sorts to the students' community and the younger lots of Shillong in the past three days where they enjoyed every moment of weapon and equipment display-cum-awareness programme at Polo Ground. The display is part of the nation celebration of the 'Swarnim Vijay Varsh' to commemorate 50th anniversary of the historic victory of Indian Armed Forces in 1971 War. As a part of the celebrations, a three day Weapon & Equipment Display-cum-Awareness Programme on 'Know Your Armed Forces' was organized from March 25 to 27 at Polo ground, Shillong.

Headquarters Eastern Air Command put up an impressive display of a variety of weapon systems such as Low Level Light Weight Radar, Shoulder Fired Surface to Air Missiles, various types of air armaments along with models of various IAF aircrafts such as Su -30, LCA Tejas, Mig, Rafale, etc. A 'Career Guidance cum Publicity stall' was also set up displaying career opportunities in Indian Air Force for bright and aspiring youths.
