SHILLONG: The West Garo Hills police has successfully rescued three persons from their abductors. According to Assistant Inspector General of Police GK Iangrai, information was received at the Dadenngre Police Station that three persons were abducted by unknown miscreants on September 5. Immediately after receiving the information, a special investigation and rescue team was constituted by the West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police. The Assistant Inspector General of Police informed that on the intervening night of September 7, all the three victims were rescued from a thickly forested area in the Magalpara- Kantanagre area. In the process, three persons involved in the abduction were also apprehended. A country-made weapon and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the abductors.
