SHILLONG: The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of NEHU (North-Eastern Hill University), SK Srivastava apprised a three-member delegation of the Meghalaya ABVP (Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad) that met him on Monday that the welfare of final-year students are on top of his priority list. He assured the delegation that NEHU would very soon come out with a clear picture once the matter is discussed in the Academic Council as well as the Executive Committee of the varsity. The VC informed this during the discussion with the ABVP delegation in the presence of Pro Vice Chancellor of NEHU Henry Lamin, stated a release of the ABVP.
The delegation members from the Meghalaya unit of ABVP, requested the NEHU administration to issue a circular notifying the standard procedures that will be followed by the University regarding evaluation and conduct of examination amidst the COVID-19 pandemic at the earliest. The delegation also submitted a memorandum to the VC in this regard.
This information shared as early as possible would help the students have some clarity on their future; and also help them in clearing the cloud of uncertainty that has been looming around quite some time above them regarding the examination process, stated the release. Conveying the ongoing discomfort among students of the University on the mentioned isues, the delegation informed the VC that the students are very much eager to gather some information about how they are going to be evaluated for the present academic year in the University.
