Aizawl battalion conferred with Governor's Unit Citation

AIZAWL: Aizawl Battalion under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) is deployed in Northern MIZORAM with its HQ at Aizawl since April 2017.

The battalion has been actively involved in several anti-smuggling operations wherein caches of WLS and weapons have been recovered by them. They have also been at the forefront in maintaining the sanctity of IMB and Border management.

Their pivotal role in the upliftment of the Mizo society by conducting several awareness programmes and campaigns/ recruitment training/ motivational lectures have earned large scale respect for the battalion among the locals.

For this exemplary performance of the battalion under the able leadership of Colonel Viplav Tripathi, Commandant Aizawl Battalion, the Honourable Governor of Mizoram, PS Sreedharan Pillai awarded the battalion with Governors Citation.
