Assam Rifles' anti-drugs campaign held at Serchhip

SERCHHIP: The Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), organised 'Anti Drugs Campaign' at Serchhip on 'National Youth Day' to acquaint the youths about the ill effects of drugs. The event was attended by personnel of 21 Assam Rifles and 50 civilians.

On the occasion on Tuesday, the youths took the solemn oath to fight against drug abuse and get involved in nation-building activities. A lecture on 'Importance of youth on nation building' was conducted. The youths also took part in a 60-meter sprint. Booklets on the long-term illness and the aftermath of problems due to drug use were distributed among the public. The event was followed by a prize distribution and refreshments were served, stated a release
