Assam Rifles conducts cleaning campaign of River Tiau at Zokhathar, Champhai district

AIZAWL: Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted "Cleaning Campaign of River Tiau" at Zokhathar, Champhai district by Company Operating Base (COB) Zokhathar on Friday.

The aim behind cleaning river Tiau was to spread awareness amongst local population to understand the importance and role of rivers in our day to day life and environment as a whole. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local population of Zokhawthar.

The cleaning campaign was conducted in line with events for World Environment Day, a press release said.
