Assam Rifles conducts cleanliness drive in Mizoram

AIZAWL: The Aizawl Battalion of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), organized a cleanliness drive at the Company Operating Bases (COB) in Hnahlan, Mimbung and Ngopa on Monday, stated a press release.

Gandhiji had a dream of 'Clean India' and had once said that cleanliness is important than Independence. This whole initiative was organized with the aim of spreading awareness about personal and public hygiene. Further, the idea was to ignite the feeling of patriotism in the young minds of this region and make them understand the dream of Mahatma Gandhi.

The locals of Mizoram were very happy and expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by Assam Rifles. A total eight local residents and troops of Assam Rifles attended the cleanliness drive.
