AIZAWL: Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a "Free Medical Camp" at Parva-I village on August 20, 2022 under "Ayushman Bharat Yojana" & Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana". The aim of the medical camp was to provide free medical treatment to the local populace by a specially constituted medical team of this unit. The team examined 65 villagers (20 x Male, 30 x Females and 15 x Children) and gave requisite medicines for their ailments besides distributing free medicines to the needy locals.

Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precautions from common viral diseases like Malaria was also imparted. Emphasis on the importance of hygiene and sanitation were explained to the villagers for better living standards. Villagers appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles and conveyed their heartfelt thanks to 3 Assam Rifles for addressing their urgent medical needs by providing them with timely medical aid, a press release said.
