LUNGLEI: The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), extended helping hand to orphanages in Bethel Centre and KK Children's Home within Lunglei district of Mizoram on December 20. The move is dedicated towards assisting children to keep their hopes and aspirations intact and also empower them to have a bright future.

During the present prevailing condition in the State due to COVID-19, Col. Bejoy R, SM Commandant Lunglei Battalion Assam Rifles visited the institutes and provided food items and basic essentials. Keeping in mind the Christmas Eve, a cake-cutting ceremony was also organised for the children. The management and staff of both the orphanages expressed their gratitude and lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for the humility and assistance provided towards the children. The noble gesture on part of Assam Rifles and their sincere concern will go a long way in further consolidating the harmonious relations prevailing between the locals and the Assam Rifles, stated a release.
