Lecture on COVID & water-borne diseases held at Lungpuk
CHAMPHAI/LUNGPUK: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, the Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles -- under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) -- recovered 70 cases of foreign made illegal liquor in the general area of Ngurkawn in Mizoram on August 14.
The operation was carried out by a team of Assam Rifles based on specific information. The approximate market value of the seized liquor is Rs 8,00,000. The recovered items have been handed over to the Excise & Narcotics Department, Champhai for further legal proceedings. They also detained a person in this regard.
The ongoing smuggling of drugs is a major cause of concern for Mizoram, especially along the Indo-Myanmar border, stated a press release..
LECTURE ON COVID & WATER-BORNE DISEASES AT LUNGPUK: The Lunglei Battalion of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles -- under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) -- conducted a lecture on 'COVID-19 & Malaria Water Borne Diseases' among the residents of Lungpuk Village on August 14.
It was conducted by the Chief Medical Officer of 2IC, Virender Baboria. It was attended by 37 villagers. The campaign was mainly focused upon precautionary measures and the Do's & Dont's during the pandemic to avoid any loss of life due to COVID-19. The local populace appreciated the efforts made by the Assam Rifles about awareness of the diseases, stated a press release.
