AIZAWL: Lunglei Battalion of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), COB Zorinpui, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, inaugurated a Youth Skill Development Program involving sewing and stitching at Zochachhua village on Monday, stated a press release.

The aim of the programme is to train local youths with basic tailoring training. The three-month-long training will develop the skills and subsequently enable the beneficiaries to achieve monetary benefits. The program was conducted in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Lawngtalai and CYLA, Zochachhua. Around 40 girls and boys from Zochachhua village, Hmwambuchhua, Dumzao and Latitlang were present ta the inaugural programme. The village council appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles in guiding and channelizing youth energy in a positive manner, which will not only develop the individuals but also the society in general.
