AIZAWL: As part of encouraging the young generations to think radically, an artistic/ creativity competition was organized by the Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 23 Sect Assam Rifles/ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) on Monday. This drive was aimed at encouraging and motivating the children to indulge themselves in creative activities which are essential for the overall development of their mental fitness.
Painting, drawing and sculpting help develop visual-spatial skills, especially in the young age. These skills help the kids to analyze what they see and make choices based on visual information. Creating art and crafts projects also assists with developing executive function, which includes working memory, mental flexibility and self-control. Altogether 128 children participated in the subject event and showcased their creative talents in the complete spectrum in the villages of Ngopa, Mimbung, Kawlbem, New Vaikhawtlang and Hnahlan and New KLP Zokhawsang.
The chiefs of the border villages were elated by this initiative of Assam Rifles and requested them to continue with such socially advantageous and pragmatic events in future, stated a release.
