Fire incident near Assam Rifles number 2 gate in Lunglei

 MIZORAM: Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), helped put out the fire at Lunglawn road near Assam Rifles number 2 gate on Tuesday. A total of one officer, two Junior Commissioned Officer and sixty-five other ranks of Assam Rifles helped doused the fire. On Tuesaday at around 01:30 am sentry on duty alerted the battalion about a civil tata truck parked in a crowded area that caught fire. The battalion fire fighting squad immediately swung into action and reached the spot. In about 40 minutes the fire was extinguished. Lunglei Battalion acted as the first responder to the incident which helped prevent the spread of fire to other localities and thus preventing a major mishap akin to Lunglei Fire of 2021, stated a press release.
