Illegal areca nuts and heroin worth Rs 1.07 crore seized by Assam Rifles in Mizoram

 MIZORAM: The Serchhip Battalion of Mizoram Range Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered 150 bags of illegal Areca nuts in general area Melbuk, Zokhawthar, and 33 gms of Heroin No. 4, along with one apprehension in general area Zote (Zote-Tiau River Road), Champhai, for a total worth of Rs 1.07 Crore on Friday. The two separate operations were carried out by teams of Assam Rifles and Custom Department Zokhawthar based on specific information. The entire consignment recovered and the apprehended individual have been handed over to the Customs Department, Zokhawthar, and Police Station Champhai for further legal proceedings, state a press release.
