As per the discussion, Mizoram police will be provided assistance by volunteers of Young Mizo Association and NGOs during the process. Apart from that, as many as possible checkpoints will be established  across the state, especially along the international borders.

The exercise will be carried out by teaming up with the Assam Rifles ( AR ) and Border Security Force (BSF), who are guarding the Indo-Myanmar and Bangladesh border. According to sources, Mizoram government will provide monetary assistance to the CYMA, if needed, in its efforts to release the state from any sort of smuggling activity.

Mizoram is in the limelight for its recent and frequent drugs cases that include heroin, areca nuts and other illicit items that are being transported from Myanmar. In a recent case, an episode took place in Mizoram's Mamit district, where agitated mobs had set six vehicles on fire which had consignment of Burmese areca nuts.

Unfortunately, the smuggled areca nuts has negatively affected the markets of local farmers who are now struggling to transport their products to Assam.
