GUWAHATI: A 14-day long national interactive tour to Delhi, Dehradun and Mussoorie organized by Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles/ Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East), for 14 students and 2 teachers from Mizoram concluded at Aizawl where it was flagged in by Mizoram Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai, on Monday. The young participants from diverse backgrounds from Mizoram toured various historical monuments and other important landmarks in Delhi, Dehradun and Mussoorie from December 2 to 14 and interacted with several prominent personalities including Padma Bhushan Ruskin Bond and senior military leaders.
The tour participants witnessed the immaculate Passing Out Parade and light and sound show at IMA, Dehradun. The students visited various schools of prominence like the Doon School and Rashtriya Indian Military College. The students also had a glimpse of the training and induction programmes of the officers of the Indian Administrative Services during the visit to the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration. The group also visited the "Centre Of Excellence" ITBP Academy in Mussoorie and Forest Research institute of Dehradun.
The participants were given the opportunity to visit various historical landmarks in Delhi to experience the rich cultural and National Heritage of India.
The Governor, during the flag in ceremony, congratulated the students on the successful completion of the tour and encouraged them to share the experience and knowledge gained by them through the tour with their counterparts in schools and colleges as ambassadors of unity, integrity, prosperity and development.
