AIZAWL: To achieve the motto of 'Winning the Hearts and Minds of the Local Populace', the Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted pre-recruitment training-and-coaching sessions for the local youths of Mizoram from January 20 to April 20, 2021.
The aim of these training sessions was to guide the local youths aspiring to join the country's armed forces and give them an insight about the selection procedures and standards expected out of a soldier for the upcoming 'Army Recruitment Rally' scheduled in May 2021.
Prior to the commencement of these pre-recruitment training sessions, medical tests were conducted for the aspirants. Then, the Battalion commenced the three-month pre-recruitment training. A total of 49 boys and 31 girls participated in the training. The training concluded on April 20 due to surge of COVID-19 cases in the Mizoram.
Delivering the closing address at the rally, Commandant of the Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles gave his best wishes to the youth for their future and assured to provide all assistances regarding their recruitment, stated a release.
