NEW DELHI: In a bid to promote and harness trade and export potential of agricultural produce, processed food products, handloom and handicrafts, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), in collaboration with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and Department of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland, is organizing a two-day event titled 'Vanijya Utsav' at Dimapur from September 21-September 22.
The Vanijya Utsav is being organized across several States. It aims to showcase the State as a rising economic force in the country in terms of exports potential as well as demonstrate the economic progress achieved in the last 75 years in international trade. The event is being organized also to commemorate 75 years of Independence being celebrated on the theme of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
Imnatiba Jamir, Advisor of Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Nagaland, inaugurated the Vanijya Utsav in presence of Vanlalramsanga, Economic Advisor, Department of Commerce, Government of India, and other dignitaries, stated a press release.
Exhibitors are showcasing various local products and products of Nagaland at the Vanijya Utsav. The first day of the Vanijya Utsav covered sessions on the theme 'Knowledge Sharing' wherein resource persons from APEDA, Agricultural Marketing Board, officials from Horticulture & Land Resource department of Nagaland shared their thoughts.
The second day of the Vanijya Utsav session will witness lectures on financial support and assistance by Export Import Bank, State Bank of Indiaand Industry Department of Nagaland along with experience sharing sessions by leading entrepreneurs from Nagaland.
