Dimapur: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a fortune 500 oil refining, exploration and marketing PSU with Maharatna status has taken a revolutionary step in fuel delivery by inaugurating the first Door to Door Delivery (DDD) facility named Fuel Kart-Fuel on Call in the state of Nagaland on December 30.

The DDD facility was inaugurated for commercial sales by Mowsam S Khaund, territory manager (retail), BPCL Shillong Territory in the presence of Prithviraj Nath, sales officer BPCL and customers & esteemed guests through a launch function held at M/s MK Assertion Station, Tseipama, Dimapur.

The facility comprises of a state-of-the-art automated mobile dispensing browser which has an inbuilt dispensing unit. The browser has a 6000-litre capacity tank fitted on a vehicle and is licensed to provide door delivery of diesel to customers.

Earlier, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the nation's largest fuel retailer, has started door to door delivery of diesel in Dimapur.

Faith Services, a retail outlet of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd had started the door to door delivery of fuel from November 12, Ngahorning Kashung, State Level Coordinator, Nagaland, Tinsukia DO, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd had said.

The state coordinator had also said that 'Fuel @ Call' service by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd will deliver diesel right up to the doorstep of the customers. Such home delivery service of fuel will be helpful for the common people, especially during the coronavirus pandemic when making long queues proves to be problematic for the health.

The service by IOC can be availed by contacting Faith Services in 5th Mile, Dimapur.

Amid rising competition from alternative mobility solutions in the country, BCPCL and IOC, India's fuel retailers have decided to expand their firms to Door-to-Door Delivery (DDD).

IOC had already initiated DDD in Pune and Chennai in 2018 and now plans to expand this service to 300 more locations which included Dimapur, Nagaland.
