Guwahati: Amid the ongoing lockdown that has been called owing to arrest the spread of the coronavirus, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on Monday, August 3, fixed the prices of essential commodities. The commodities will be sold at these fixed prices until further orders.

As per the order, the prices for vegetables are as under:

Tomato/kharpetia: Rs. 75/kg

Tomato (local): Rs. 25/kg

Green chilly (tepa) – Rs. 60/kg

Green chilly (micro) – Rs 140/kg

Beans (big) – Rs 40/kg

Beans (small) – Rs 30/kg

Cabbage – Rs 25/kg

Brinjal – Rs 35/kg

Bitter gourd (big) – Rs 50/kg

Bitter gourd (small) – Rs 40/kg

Cauliflower – Rs 90/kg

Garlic (big) – Rs 160/kg

Garlic (small) – Rs 140/kg

Cucumber – Rs 25/kg

Onion – Rs 40/kg

Potato – Rs. 40/kg

Meanwhile, rice (Andhra/arham) has been fixed at Rs. 2,000 per bag and Rs. 50/kg; the price of masoor dal has been fixed at Rs. 80/kilo, masoor dal medium has been fixed at Rs100/kg, masoor dal small has been fixed at Rs. 90/kg. At the same time, the price of moong dal has been fixed at Rs. 120/kg and the price of arhar dal has been fixed at Rs. 110/kg.

The price of sugar has been fixed at Rs. 50/kg, and the price of eggs has been fixed at Rs. 170/plate.

The Kohima Municipal Council has dictated that all shopkeepers shall have to abide by these prices and warned that action would be taken against those who set differing rates.

The citizens too have been urged to remain alert and report to the authorities if anyone is found charging exorbitant rates for the items.

At the same time, the Kohima Municipal Council has urged all the businesses – as well as shop owners – to adhere to the SOP that has been given to mitigating the risk of a virus spread.
