Major blow to extortion by NSCN-IM, cadres arrested in Dimapur

 DIMAPUR: Assam Rifles rescued six civilians who were held captive for want of ransom in Dimapur. All six people were kidnapped between April 13 to 27, and their family members were contacted to pay ransom. NSCN cadres who have been arrested are SS Lt Khenito Assumi, S/O Tolivi Assumi, Chekiye vill, Chumukedima, SS 2nd Lt Neison, S/O Late Rongneiegnk, Nungsai vill, Kangpokpi, SS Lance Cpl Mughahuto, S/O Late Hewoto, Tichibami vill, Suruhoto, Zunheboto, SS Sgt Chonpenthung Murry, S/O Chenethung Murry, Wokha vill, Wokha, SS Sgt Katoho Yeptho, S/O Late Khumtsa, 3rd Mile, Dimapur. Individuals have been rescued from Bamanpukhri House; apparently an illegal place for similar nefarious activities, by NSCN IM, stated a press release.

Details of individuals rescued are Mulutayo Kezo, S/O Pusazo, Headmaster of Government High School, Kikruma, Phek-kidnapped on April 25, Akito Sumi, S/O Hikavi, Burma camp, Dimapur kidnapped on April 27, Raju Gupta, S/O Ramesh Prasad Gupta, Judge Bazaar village-Aarah District, Bihar kidnapped on April 21, Raj Kumar Das, S/O Manik Das, Lanka village, Assam kidnapped on April 21, Piyar Ali, S/O Ajgar Ali, Lahorijan village, Karbi Anglong, Assam kidnapped on April 13, and Huvito Sumi, Half Nagarjan village, Dimapur kidnapped on April 27.
