DIMAPUR: Dimapur Administration has come up with a number of strict actions to be imposed against the rule-breakers.

Himato Zhimomi, Principal Secretary, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs of Nagaland Government shared this news through his Twitter handle on Thursday afternoon.

Zhimomi stated that community service will be imposed on those who violate the rules of the administration. Along with the tweet, he also added a few images where civilians have been seen clearing garbage and cleaning the roads. Violation of rules has become an integral part of modern Indian society, especially in the urban towns and cities and the imposition of community service as a form of punishment taken forward by the Dimapur administration against littering on roads, spitting in public spaces, etc. is extensively appreciated by the netizens. It is also allegedly stated from different Twitter handles that because of the illegal parking system followed by the common people, the four-lane of the town has converted into two-lane. Community Service as a means of punishment will surely ensure the omission of such illegal practices.

Community service, when used as a means of punishment, is intended to benefit the society which has been deliberately harmed by the miscreants. It is often seen that punishment to the rules violators is given by the judges in a way that does not give rise to any violence or physical harm. Amid this coronavirus pandemic, cleanliness is touching heights and spitting on roads, and littering here and there must be dealt with strict action and treatment. It is expected that this step towards the cleanliness of the town by this Northeastern state will encourage the rest of the Indian states. It is also a step forward to the Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan initiated by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has gained immediate applause and appreciation from all corners of the country.
