Guwahati: Jessica Snock, a beauty pageant winner from the state of Nagaland has been officially appointed as the deputy advisor of the US Presidential Advisory Board for the whole of Asia ahead of the Presidential elections in the country.

The 33-year old, who also holds the Mrs United Nations 2019 title, hails from Reguri village in Nagaland's Phek district was appointed by Profesor Dr. Philip Jadhav of the US Presidential Advisory Board under the banner of the Republican National Committee.

Talking to media after the revelation came to light, Jessica Snock said that she will now be advocating for the rights of women in society from the platform of her new-found position.

"I am ready for the new responsibility. It is something that I always wanted to do. I have always wanted to do something which I thought I could not. The more challenging it is, the more fun it is. It also exposes our potentials. Unless we take up the challenge, we do not know what we are capable of," she said.

Snock, who was crowned as Mrs. United Nations during a coronation ceremony of the event that took place at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, is also the ambassador of the peacekeeping force for Southeast Asia. At the prestigious event, she also won the Mrs. Photogenic United Nations subtitle. In another feather to her cap, the Naga beauty also featured on the cover of 'Lifestyle' magazine in July.

It is worth mentioning here that Jessica Snock Akoijam, who was born and brought up in Dimapur, Nagaland, is the wife of Dr. Akoijam Brajamani of Wangkhei Koijam Leikai, who is currently serving as a doctor in the Indian Army.

Arguably, her biggest achievement is winning the prestigious 'Mrs. United Nations 2019' beauty pageant. Jessica is also the first Naga woman to represent India at the 'Mrs. United Nations World 2019'.The competition, which was held from November 1 to 9 at Jalandhar in Punjab, saw a bevy of beauties participate to win the coveted crown.
