Hotel management institute inaugurated

KOHIMA: The State Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Dimapur was inaugurated with Advisor, Tourism, Art & Culture, H Khehovi Yepthomi as special guest who unveiled the inaugural plaque on Friday. Addressing the gathering, attended by government officials, public leaders, area councils, the advisor said that after taking over the charge of the department and seeing how it could help the State and the people in terms of developing useful skills and improve economy, stated a DIPR release.

Mid-day meal mela

KOHIMA: A mid-day meal was organised at Peren Town Local Ground on Friday. The programme was initiated by MDM Project, Directorate of School Education with Advisor Water Resources, Namri Nchang graced the occasion as the special guest. Namri in his speech acknowledged the Department of School Education for organizing this mega events at Peren Town being this event as first of its kind in the State.

Poshan mela

KOHIMA: Prime Minister's overarching scheme for holistic nourishment called Poshan Abhiyaan was inaugurated and declared Poshan Mela Open at Town Hall Tseminyu by Nokchasashi Kichu, ADC Tseminyu, as guest of honour on Friday. The event was organized by the Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with line departments at Tseminyu Town Hall, where Anganwadi workers, self help groups with their local produces participated in the day-long programme, stated a DIPR release.

Anaemia screening camp

KOHIMA: The Department of Social Welfare, Dimapur district in convergence with School Education and Health & Family Welfare conducted an anaemia screening camp with the theme 'Prevention of Anaemia in Adolescent girls and women in reproductive age group' at Urban Primary Health Center, Burma Camp, Dimapur on Friday. Dr Chamzai Newmai, MO gave an overview of causes, treatment and prevention of anaemia. About 70 girl students and 4 teachers from GHS Burma Camp participated and underwent the screening tests, stated a DIPR release.

Training programme

KOHIMA: In line with the State Government's notification on complete ban on single use plastic, a training on making paper bags and other eco- friendly products was conducted in Pughoboto by the district administration and rural natural connect Lazami on Friday. Speaking in the programme, SDO Civil Pughoboto, Tiayanger Jamir asked the NGOs, especially SHGs and youths that this noble activity can be part of their income generating source, stated a DIPR release.
