Nagaland DPDB Meetings Approve Various Schemes

LONGDENG: The Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) at its meeting on Tuesday approved the Local Area Development Fund (LADP) 2019-20 for 49 A/C Tamlu and 50 A/C Longleng. It also recommended for construction of retaining/protection wall above the CMO’s Office and district hospital, Longleng to the department concerned. After discussing the agenda proposed by the Deputy Commissioner for electrification at the new site where the new government buildings and quarters are coming up, the board directed the SDO (Power) to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and submit it in the next meeting for approval.

The Tuesday’s meeting was held under the chairmanship of BS Nganlang Phom at the DC’s conference hall. Exhorting the members, Phom said for any organization, a good team work is required for a fruitful outcome, and urged for collective effort of every member for effective planning in the district. Asserting that he is ever ready to give a patient hearing to the grievances of the members, he asked them to raise their problems and difficulties of the departments, stated a release.

1. Pangnyu Phom in his short speech thanked the government officials for smoothly conducting the Lok Sabha election-2019 in the district. He maintained that DPDB is an important platform not only for discussion and sharing the problems but also its meeting minutes are very essential for approving any schemes and projects for the district. Therefore, he suggested giving copies of the DPDB meeting to every member. Pangnyu also informed that Cabinet meeting of the State Government may be held at Longleng district at any time and urged the members to be alert and active with their respective departmental activities. He also appealed to the members to extend all possible help and cooperation to the non-government organisations (NGOs), clubs or organizations who are working for the uplift of the district.

Earlier, Longleng Deputy Commissioner John Tsulise Sangtam welcomed the new DPDB chairman and appealed to the members to be regularly monitor various activities in the district. He further cautioned that any members found absent for three consecutive DPDB meeting will be penalised. John also apprised the elected members about the activities conducted on the ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyaan’ in Longleng. He informed that Longleng was selected under the scheme due to shortage of ground water and scarcity of water in the district.

Engineer Khitangpila SDO, Water Resource Department, Longleng presented the activities of her department through a Power Point presentation. The Fisheries and Sericulture departments will present their activities in the next meeting. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the chairman.

PUGHOBOTO: The Sub Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of MLA and Chairman SDPDB Pughoboto, Y. Vikheho Swu at the DB court hall on Tuesday. SDO Civil, Tiayanger Jamir reviewed the last meeting. The MLA informed the House that the ‘Best Village Council’ award should be given instead of the “Best Village Council Chairman Award,” which was agreed to in the last meeting. The MLA added that the criteria for the award is to be decided by the administration. The SDO Civil also asked the award committee members to check as to how the villages are performing, and to submit the report on time.

The house also deliberated the agenda, which was submitted by Dr. Sukhato Wotsa for setting up a fire station at Pughoboto, Forest Reserve of Stag Sanctuary in Ighanumi, Tragopan Sanctuary at Lazami. The sanctuary which was discussed in the meeting, the MLA said that ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the concerned village is required, therefore, he asked the forest department and administration to do away with certain formalities before the house takes up the agenda. The house also agreed to remind through letter to the concerned department to come and identify land for setting up Fire Station. The house also approved to set up CDPO office in Pughoboto in the next financial year. It was also agreed to write a letter to the department concerned for posting of SDEO Pughoboto immediately, stated a release.

TOBU: The Tobu SDPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of ADC Tobu Mudongoi Chuzho on Tuesday. It reviewed the last meeting’s minutesnad also discussed the issues of electricity, poor supply of water, poor employees attendances at departmental offices and the construction of quarter guard room at the Pokyang Post here of the Sixth Nagaland Armed Police (NAP), stated a release.
