KOHIMA: Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, announced on June 6 that a 25-kilometer 2-lane highway is being built in Nagaland to improve connection with neighbouring northeastern states.

The Minister stated in a series of tweets that the main goal of this project is to improve connectivity with neighbouring states in the northeast region by providing efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective transit options for all passengers.

Taking on twitter, Gadkari said that, “As part of Package-3, we are now developing a 25-kilometer 2-lane roadway with hard shoulders from Chakabama to Zunheboto in Nagaland.

The primary goal of this project is to improve connectivity with neighbouring northeastern states by providing efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective transportation options for all commuters.”

In January, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched five separate development projects totaling Rs.52 crore in Nagaland, according to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to the statement, it was also stated that, “Atal Tinkering Labs built at a cost of $1 crore 80 lakh in 9 government higher secondary schools, Virtual Reality (VR) laboratories in 42 government higher secondary schools, a 12.5 megawatt (MV) sub-station at Chiephobozou, trekking and base camps at Mount Saramati, Thanamir Village, and Kiphire, and a two-lane bridge on the Doyang River built at a cost of 28 crore close to the Governor's Camp Lifayan areKiphire, and a two-lane bridge on the Doyang River near the Governor's Camp Lifayan.”

The Union Home Minister stated in his speech that Nagaland is a place where the cultures of various tribes come together. As one of the top 25 biodiversity hotspots in the world, Nagaland has tremendous tourism potential. Nagaland is renowned throughout the world for its people, culture, and the equitable treatment of women in this country.
