Nagaland Govt to Receive Centre’s 90 Percent Share Once Ongoing Projects Are Completed

KOHIMA: Tokheho Yepthomi, member of the Lok Sabha and chairman of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), announced at a quarterly meeting on Wednesday that the State government must now release its 10% state share before the Central government can release its 90% share within the following 30 days. He also let the members know that the Central Government would only approve the following project or plan once all current projects and schemes had been finished by the end of the year.

Yepthomi added that the central government won't approve the following project or scheme unless all current projects and schemes are finished by the end of the year. The state government must notify the central government if a project is not completed within a given period of time or year, he continued, and it is not permitted to hold funds from centrally supported programmes or projects in savings.

Taking on twitter, Tokheho Yepthomi informed, “Chaired Mokokchung District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committe, DISHA. Have once again reiterated the need for effective and time bound implementation of Central Sponsored Schemes.”

He instructed the agriculture department to support the farmers by providing them with all the resources available, including financial aid, and to identify different fruits and vegetables that can be grown in that specific area so that they can not only feed themselves but also export them to other places. This came after a presentation of various centrally-sponsored programmes being implemented by various state departments.

He also asked the Department to get in touch with farmers during the DISHA conference, particularly for the unlimited PM Kisan application process, as it has been observed that many farmer applications are being rejected because the farmers are illiterate or stupid.

The MP also asked the Power Department to offer several suggestions for the establishment of power generating plants at various locations. The MP urged the Power Department to try to create a power generating plant so that they could be both consumers and producers.
