KOHIMA: The Nagaland Department of School Education announced that all schools across the State under the department has cancelled winter vacation for this year. The Department issued an order stating that a notification issued on November 9, 2019 containing the declaration of winter holiday stands cancelled. It is informed that the schools should be closed from December 23, 2020 to January 3, 2021 due to Christmas and New Year holidays and to be resumed from January 4, 2021.

School heads, teachers including other staff have been directed to stay at their respective places of posting from January 4, 2021 and to continue activities related to 'online / offline continuous learning programs' for all classes and other training programs to be launched by the department. Stated the notification. However, it was informed that a separate notice will be released concerning the re-opening of schools for the 2021academic session.

It claimed that schools should not require students to attend classes on daily basis for 2021 academic session. The department also informed that remedial classes for class 10, 11 and 12 should continue, which will be notified by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE). (Agencies)
