During the inaugural program, Assistant Director of NSSO, Chinneivah Haokip, said the census will be conducted in a span of three months starting from June. It'll cover the entire nation including organized and unorganized sectors.

“In this census, we will be using an ICT platform developed by Common Service Center (CSC) under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology that means the validation, super scrutiny and scrutiny by supervisors will be done through the mobile apps itself. She said CSC is the implementing agency in developing the platform, NSSO and the Directorate of Economics and Statistics will assist with capacity and manpower. She added that obtaining quality data should be the utmost importance considering the inexperienced field workers under CSC.

Joint Director and Nodal Officer for 7th EC, Neisatuo Puro highlighted on the functions of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, CSC E-Governance Services India Limited, Field Operations Divisions, State Government, District Magistrate, etc., in regard to the 7th Economic Census.
