Guwahati: As a part of the Poshan Maah initiated by the Prime Minister of the nation, the Yuva Shakti Rally under the slogan “spread the poshan message” was organized in Dimapur on September 15. The rally was an act of promotion of the nutrition drive in order to make people aware of the initiative.
Dimapur Government College publicity and media cell released a press release stating the details of the rally. It mentioned that the event was organized under the initiative of the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Dimapur Government College (DGC) along with five other institutions. The district administration and Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland is also in collaboration with the college.
ADC Dimapur, Albert Ezung flagged off the rally at DC Court Junction and the rally further culminated at the sub-jail area. The program officer of NSS, DGC, Mezhulhoulie Angami chaired the program and Medonuo Khrikethoii Kense, youth resources officer, Dimapur, gave a brief speech on the slogan for the rally.
The rally was participated by 200 NSS volunteers along with program officers of Immanuel College, Unity College, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, St. John College and Pranabananda Women’s College.
Another Yuva Shakti Rally was also conducted in Mokokchung on September 15. The rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal. The rally was joined by a hundred NSS volunteers displaying banners, placards spreading awareness on nutrition, health care and sanitation and was organized by District Sports Office.
