Gyalshing (Sikkim): The district hospital of Gyalshing district, Sikkim received the "State Certification for LaQshya" under the National Quality Assurance Programme. LaQshya is a programme launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The programme aims to improve the quality care in Labour room and in Maternity OT.
The main objective behind LaQshya is to reduce the maternal and newborn mortality, moridity and still births with the quality care provided by the hospitals.
The official Twitter account of Government of Sikkim managed by the Information & Public Relations Department shared the information through a tweet.
"District Hospital Gyalshing West #Sikkim gets the State Certification for LaQshya as per National Quality Assurance program of @MoHFW_INDIA. It is based on quality standards of Labour Room & Maternity OT. It is the only District Hospital to achieve this Certification."
