Sikkim: Powerlifting Competition Organised at Namchi for the First Time

Guwahati: The 3rd Strongest Man and 2nd Strongest Woman of Sikkim powerlifting competition will be held in Namchi of South Sikkim.

The event is being organized by the newly-opened SUMO’s Gym in collaboration with Bodybuilding and Power Lifting Association of Sikkim, on December 28 at Central Park, according to Sikkim Express.

It may be mentioned that this is for the first time that the competition is being held outside Gangtok.

The event is being held in Namchi this year with a motive to introduce bodybuilding and powerlifting in south district, informed the organizers.

The men’s competition will have four different weight categories, namely, 0-50, 50-70, 70-90 and 90 above and the women’s competition will be held in two weight categories, namely, 0-50 and 50 above.

The competition will also have men’s master’s category.

The competition is open to the participants from all four districts, the report added.
