Abhishek Banerjee Calls Out Tripura BJP Government for Corruption

AGARTALA: The All India General Secretary for the Trinamool Congress accused the Bharata Janata Party of undemocratic and corrupt governance in the state of Tripura during the past five years.

Abhishek Banerjee the General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress Party was addressing election rallies in Kamalpur of Dhalai and Kadamtala of North Tripura districts in the state of Tripura on Friday when he accused the current government in the state of taking the state back by half a century. Mentioning the undemocratic and corrupt governance of the state government, he said that the state has no proper healthcare facility, educational institution or infrastructure. He also mentioned that Tripura's dependence on other states has increased manifold during the BJP governance.

"The loss of Tripura during five years of BJP was more than that in the 25-year rule of the communists. The BJP does politics with caste, religion and communal sentiments to divide society for its political gain. None of the BJP-ruled states, including Tripura, can even think of the welfare schemes implemented by the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal," said the Trinamool Congress leader.

He went on to add that the people of Tripura need the Trinamool Congress government. He mentioned that schemes like Swastha Sathi, Kanya Sri, Laxmi Bhandar and credit cards for students will be extended to Tripura as well once the party comes back to power. Abhishek Banerjee went on to add that the BJP party came to power in 2018 using fake promises and is now resorting to violence and attacks to shun the voices of the public.

"Our leaders and MPs were attacked in front of police by BJP goons. I was attacked on my first visit and our leaders were put behind the bars on false cases, but we didn't step back," he mentioned while adding that the BJP had to change the chief minister after Biplab Kumar Deb's corruption came to light.
