Agartala: The BJP Mahila Morcha is on a green campaign. Members of the organization were seen holding placards against rampant use of plastics and urging people not to use plastic that is harmful for the environment.
The door-to-door campaign started from Ward No. 21 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation and will continue in other ward. Led by Papia Datta, State president of the Mahila Morcha, the campaigners tried to convince the local residents about the bad impact of plastic and urged them to avoid it.
In a bid to create awareness they also distributed sapling of plants to every household. They also distributed pamphlets with appeals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the need of keeping the environment clean.
Papia Datta said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb wants to spread the Prime Minister’s message about environment to every house and that is what we are doing.
