Handloom sarees for ASHA workers across Tripura

AGARTALA: Diwali-2020 is all about going 'Vocal for Local' in Tripura for Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who took the decision to offer handloom sarees purchased from Purbasha to ASHA workers. He encouraged people to go 'Local for Diwali' and support the down-to-earth hardworking and talented artisans of the State.

PM Narendra Modi ahs appealed to the masses to devote this Diwali in the name of local producers who will help to boost the economy of the respective States and the country as a whole. He believes that when everybody will buy local products, hail them and will spread the message of their good quality work, it will uplift their business and the name of the State, pointed out Deb.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had also launched 'Bamboo Diya' for Diwali produced by SHGs (Self Help Groups) of Sipahijala. Products like pineapple jam, sugarcane jaggery were also introduced by these SHGs run solely by women. They are involved in the production of locally-made products in Tripura.
