Agartala: Supply of LPG gas cylinders in the northern districts of the State has resumed as truckers carrying cylinders have withdrawn their boycott of Tripura after the State Government assured them of full security and provided escort.
It is learnt that after the dispute was over, 26 trucks carrying LPG cylinders from Ramnagar bottling plant in Silchar reached to Tripura and left for various destinations in – Unoloti, Dhalai and Khowai districts. More trucks are on the way and the officials assured that there will be no crisis of cylinders.
The truck drivers decided not to come to Tripura after a series of incidents in the last few weeks when miscreants snatched cylinders from the truck and assaulted the drivers and the assistants.
