PM Modi To Visit Tripura On Jan 4 To Inaugurate New Terminal of MBB Airport
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tripura on January 4, where he will inaugurate a slew of projects, including the newly built terminal of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) airport.
Reportedly, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday said the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has confirmed the visit of the Prime Minister to Tripura.
Meanwhile, taking to the micro-blogging site twitter, Chief Secretary, Tripura, Kumar Alok too confirmed the PM's visit and said,'' Hon'ble PM will inaugurate new airport terminal building on 4th January. Today got the opportunity to brief Hon'ble PM about the schemes/project to be launched on 4th Jan''.
Deb attended a meeting with the top officials regarding the PM's visit.
According to reports, PM Modi will be accompanied by the Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in the inauguration programme of the airport terminal.
The New Integrated Terminal Building worth Rs 438 crore has been built on a 0.03 square kilometre area in the southern end of the existing airport. It is expected to cater to 1,200 passengers at once with 20 check-in counters.
