Agartala: Eighty small tea growers were imparted training about how to produce high quality tea at Manu Valley Tea Estate by the Tripura Tea Research Association.

Mani Shankar Mallik, Development Officer of Tea Board North District and Advisor to Tea Board Association, conducted the training while the General Manager of the Manu Valley Tea Garden Manash Bhattacharjee during his welcome speech apprised the farmers about various sides of tea cultivation.

The small farmers were apprised about the utility of the Quick Response Code Card. It was observed that the small farmers were not getting proper price of their products. The Quick Response Code Card may be useful for getting proper price of their product.

The tea farmers were also imparted training about how to improve quality of their product which will give them better price. The trainers also answered various question raised by the farmers and said there is a vast market of tea outside the State and told how to tap that market.

There are 52 major and many small tea gardens across Tripura and the highest employment generating industry in the State. Few of them are getting good price in the auction but many of them are sulking mostly because of low quality.
