AGARTALA : Tripura obtained its first drone technology on Friday, November 25th, in the Tripura Institute of Technology. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha along with Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated the project. Now, Tripura government is all set to use the drone technology to estimate the land of the state.
The prime reason behind this estimation is to allot land to the landless people. The drones will be used by the government for an accurate evaluation of the land, stated Ratan Lal Nath on the inauguration ceremony. He further mentioned that there are numerous cases in India where people survive on a plot for generations with no land records. The rural areas of Tripura has also been facing this issue, where families suffer because they lack land documents to prove that a particular plot belongs to them.
After the evaluation process is completed, the government will provide an ownership card for the families who doesn't have any land records. The drone is going to help in the accurate identification during the process.
Ratan Lal Nath also emphasised on the fact that, Tripura will be utilising the drone technology for various relevant purposes in the state. It will be used for developmental work in the future. Areas that are geographically inaccessible, can be reached out by the help of drones. Even during the pandemic, recession or natural calamities, this technology could be used to provide necessary items among people. The state can use this facility in distributing relief materials.
The minister also talked about the increase in monthly allowance for the mid-day meal workers. The education department increased the honorarium from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2000. More than 11,000 mid-day meal workers are providing services to five lakh children. These workers will now be benefitted by the hike in allowance.
Ratan Lal Nath stated that, the department only has to spend an amount of Rs 5 crore for this purpose.
