AGARTALA: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the BJP's "Rath Yatra" in the state on January 5 ahead of the Tripura Assembly elections, a party leader announced on December 30. The eight-day yatra will begin in North Tripura district's Dharmanagar, according to the leader.

Shah will hold a rally in Sabroom, South Tripura district, on the same day, according to Rajib Bhattacharjee, the state president of the BJP. On the final day of the yatra, January 12, he added that JP Nadda, the president of the BJP, would take part in the event. The government has renamed the "Rath Yatra" as the "Jana Viswas Yatra."

"The party will traverse all 60 of the state's assembly districts in an effort to contact around 10 lakh people during the Yatra. 200 protests and more than 100 processions will be held to draw attention to the welfare initiatives of the federal and state governments, "Battacharjee tacked on.

In addition to Amit Shah, he claimed, at least ten union ministers, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, and central officials are anticipated to participate in the "Rath Yatra".

Sushanta Chowdhury, State Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister, spoke on the subject and referred to the "Rath Yatra" as one of the largest political programmes of the ruling party leading up to the Assembly Elections the next year. He continued, "The saffron camp has already made preparations to make the event a tremendous success."
